Well, that’s quite an honor. Next month I will be part of a prestigious international panel of creative directors to judge the best works “in alternative and emerging media, encompassing a wide variety of categories within the digital space, as well as guerrilla marketing, ambient executions, integrated campaigns and beyond”. Looking forward to seeing a lot of fresh stuff!

Currently judging 85 entries in the cyber section. Definetely many more than last year: web’s increasing, though quality not so much. I’m, half the way right now, I hope to be proved wrong.

At the annual selections for the Cannes Young Lions Competition, organized by ADCI (Art Directors Club Italia) and Sipra, we awarded six young art directors and copywriters that distinguished themselves in the film, press and cyber sections. These lion cubs will have to struggle a lot on the Croisette to take home an award. Competition is tough but I’m sure they’ve got the skills to make it.

Ve ne siete mai accorti, le leggi della grammatica e della sintassi non valgono per i direttori creativi. Provate a scrivere una mail a un dc: più importante è, più vi risponderà in un italiano orribile. Specialmente, ed è ancora più bizzarro, se di provenienza copy. Scordatevi l’uso della punteggiatura, delle consecutio, dei congiuntivi e aspettatevi almeno un paio di refusi contenuti in una-massimo-due righe di testo (perchè di più non si scrive, eh!).
Mancanza di tempo? Amnesie linguistiche stress-derivate? O, piuttosto, ultimo dei fringe benefit (come dire: io posso, tu no)? Non lo so ma personalmente sto cercando di adeguarmi, quindi mi capirete se d’ora in poi scriverò e vi risponderò male, anzi peggio possibile. Non vorrei certo essere considerato il meno cool dei dc italiani.
